Giorgio Rocca back on the podium.
“This has been a difficult day for me, the first race of the season is always something special. You never know if you trained well, and it’s the right time to face the others. So that you can check and analysed all the errors and what is missing to get to you r best level. But that’s the case for everyone. But I’m quite surprised because I’ve never been able to achieve such a good race right at the beginning, so I’m really happy about this 3rd place”.
“I can’t say that I skied well or bad, I skied the best I could. In some parts I was quite fast, in other I made mistakes. But my form is not at its best level. I hope to catch this level for the key races which take place in January.”
“I haven’t though about what happened to Schoenfelder, because I wanted to stay concentrated on my own race. I just did my runs. I don’t really want to talk about it. But I think that they took the right decision. Of course, I’m happy, because I moved from the 4th to the 3rd place, no way I’m going to complain. I brought back home some big points, which is very good! My goal this year is to go for the slalom World Cup title…..GS is just to have fun! It distracts me”.
“There is plenty of time until the next slalom in Madonna di Campiglio to train well. I hope to excel in front of my fans. Racing in Italy is always something exciting for us. So far the Italian team did well with two top-10 finishes in both events here. We hope for a great season”.
